This is a hover-fly of the family Syrphidae and will be feeding on nectar.

This looks like a Sea Aster. In Wales, this member of the daisy family, Asteraceae, is mainly confined to Pembrokeshire and the South Wales coast.

according to tradition, on the 7th of April which is St. Brynach feast day, the cuckoo first sings from the top of this cross.
